Sex museum ordered to close its doors

A SEX museum in the centre of Ayia Napa has been ordered to close because it was never granted permission to operate in the first place.Owners have been given until Friday to take down the sign outside and remove all exhibits before a court date.“This gentleman has been sent a court order and must go to court on Friday to declare he has converted the museum back to its residential state,” Ayia Napa Mayor Yiannis Karousos said yesterday.The mayor asked the museum owner to close the sex museum because he did not ask for or receive permission top operate, and because the content of the museum was not suitable for the city... 20 comments

YIANNIS Karousos, a 34-year-old municipal councillor of seven years and member of various local committees, was officially proclaimed Ayia Napa mayor yesterday.In a service at Ayia Napa municipality, the new mayor thanked the residents for voting for him and said he hoped that they may all be united for the good of the town. Ayia Napa aims to become more accessible to the disabled

AYIA Napa municipality, the national association for people with disabilities and the Rethymnos municipality in Crete have united in an effort to make the two cities more accessible for people with mobility issues.The project “Ayia-Napa – Rethymnos: Completely Accessible Cities” which will cost more than €1 million, is aimed at improving the infrastructure and accessibility of the two cities for the disabled. Ayia Napa municipality announced yesterday that the project would last for two years and will be mainly funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
