Bar Review: Milk Bar, Limassol

By Anna Hassapi 22/05/13
I am not too fond of the café/bars on the main Makarios Avenue in Limassol. In a town that boasts idyllic seafront cafes, and cute old city charm bars, why would anyone want to take in the noise and congestion of the town’s main avenue? To make matters worse, some of these establishments are a bit pretentious and lack character. This is definitely not the case with Milk Bar, a recent addition to the avenue strip that exudes retro charm and offers some fantastic menu options, including some great cocktails... Read on

Restaurant review: Alio Olio, Limassol

By Stephanie Robb 14/05/13
It is almost official, spring is over and with its end we say goodbye to those chilly nights that make eating outdoors nearly impossible. Now is the season to bask outside and enjoy dining to the maximum. The weather also calls for a good wine to kick back and relieve the daily tension of routine. A great place that engulfs these two aspects is Alio Olio.Located near the Municipal Gardens, it is a breath away from the city centre and the beach, thus claiming the benefits of both. A refreshing breeze always accompanies your time there, and you are never far away from the hustle and bustle of the centre. It boasts a bistro feel and aims to serve light Italian dishes for all. ... Read on

Bar Review: Just Kitchenbar, Limassol

By Anna Hassapi 16/04/13
Saripolou Square in Limassol’s old town centre is a vibrant space where charming bar restaurants abound; it is a sort of ‘social’ melting pot, busy day and night, frequented by students, hipsters, young families with children, and even the elderly. The ambience, however, is decidedly ‘young’. The latest addition to this busy square is Just Kitchenbar, a place that shares all the defining characteristics of its location... Read on

Restaurant review: The Round Up Pub, Limassol

By Stephanie Robb 10/04/13
With summer just around the corner and everyone looking for an affordable dining option, the choice of pub food seems ideal. Where else could you spend your night watching football, drinking ice-cold beer and eating decent food? After being tempted in with the aforementioned values, the Round Up pub scores well on all fronts. It encapsulates all you expect in your “pub-food” options, both the positives and the negatives. The positives first, as they do outweigh the negatives. The décor in the restaurant has American resonances of a typical Saloon setting. ... Read on
